Jacket is double breasted w/military metallic buttons, and stand up collar w/flat (gold?) braid trim; shoulders have thick (gold?) braid & the jacket is decorated w/3 medals. One medal is a castle tower w/inscription "war with Spain" & dated 1894?, the second medal has a palm tree w/inscription "Philippine Insurrection" & dated 1899, the third medal is the iron cross/star w/eagle emblem. All 3 medals are suspended by striped ribbons, the man appears to be in 40s,and has short hair (cut above ears) with hair parted in middle.
