Soldier is standing and facing forward with a canvas backdrop behind him w/edge of canvas visible. He has his arms behind his back & sabre is hanging on a hook on the side of the uniform. The sabre has a pineapple shaped object hanging from a strap. The uniform has a stand up collar w/US insignia & only slightly visible crossed sabre. The pants are a "riding style" - full at the thighs and narrow at knees with stripes running down the outer side of the pants. The jacket has a ribbed or coarsely woven placket with no buttons. There are military stripes on the shoulder by seams. The hat has a flat crown w/a front bill and there are 2 hat bands and an eagle emblem in the front. His boots come to the knee and have straps and hardware attached.
